In April of 2003 Bassett Creek Baptist Church called as Pastor Rev. Chris Kynard. Originally of Greensboro, Alabama, Brother Chris is a graduate of the Unversity of Alabama and is currently pursuing his Masters of Divinity degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Besides our church, Brother Chris has also served as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Linden, AL and Taylorville Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Before going into the pastoral ministry, Brother Chris was the manager and pianist for the southern gospel group The Impacts of Louisville, Kentucky. For seven years in this capacity Brother Chris travelled coast to coast encouraging churches with the hope of the gospel. It was while working in Louisville that Brother Chris met his wife, Diana Kynard.

Diana and Brother Chris have been married since April of 1993 and have been blessed with four beautiful children - Lauren (12) Jacob (11) Luke (9) and Sarah (7). 

Brother Chris is very detail oriented and he is always looking for a way to keep church fun and exciting for our current memebers as well as for any prospective members.
